Some games hit the table once and then gather dust. Others keep calling you back.
Not because the rules change every time, but because the system adapts to how you play.

Think of “Terraforming Mars.” The goal stays the same, the core engine stays the same, yet there are endless ways to play.
Or “Root.” Roles are wildly different, but everyone still works within the same core mechanics.

That is the model to borrow in design. Strong foundations do not just survive change, they welcome it.

So how do we build for replayability?
🧱 Make components modular so new combinations unlock over time
🎭 Keep a shared core that supports very different users and use cases
📈 Let the experience grow with the audience instead of aging out

Good systems do not trap you in sameness.
They let teams “play again” with fresh eyes while the core stays familiar.
